About Diana

Diana Thompson has over 25 years’ specialist marketing and PR experience in the wine trade and hospitality industry.  Skilled and successful, whilst employed as Communications Manager for Waverley Group Diana was placed in the Top 10 UK PR people by Harpers Wine & Spirit.

During her experience with Corney & Barrow Wine Merchants, Southcorp Wines Europe and Waverley Group Diana employed a number of agencies on various projects.  Frustratingly it was clear during this time that there was a distinct lack of specialist agencies in the industry, who took the time to understand their client’s business, could meet objectives and deliver an efficient service without being extortionate.

It was with this experience that Diana launched Thompson PR; an independent PR and marketing consultancy offering a genuinely personal, dedicated and specialist service to hotels, restaurants and food producers throughout Scotland.

Publicity for clients has ranged from front page national press, radio and TV interviews to local newspaper articles and winning awards.  Services include social media, launches, websites, e-marketing, copywriting, newsletters, tutoring, assistance with raising funding and general event management.  

Thompson PR has been particularly successful in targeting and achieving a number of awards and other achievements on behalf of clients.

Diana is also accredited to teach the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 1 and 2 wine and spirit courses and  offers this to hotels and restaurants throughout Scotland.  Diana is the only tutor currently operating in the north of Scotland.

Whilst remaining independent, Thompson PR regularly appoints and works with photographers, designers, printers, market researchers and other specialists who can be recommended to clients where appropriate.
